workshops

move | write | make

a multi- day workshop in physical devising with Producing Artistic Director Tracy Sunderland. Using simple ingredients and building blocks, participants will investigate and engage in the process of devising material for performance. Participants will leave with concrete methods of making, with renewed, or fresh, confidence as makers. Be prepared to move, write and share: some of the vocabulary we explore is physically rigorous but all are welcome.

residencies

ground up: an intensive in creativity and collaboration

a week-to-months long deep dive into devising from generating through performance. Participants explore the building blocks of devising used by Migration Theory artists in creating their site-responsive, original, ensemble-based projects. Each residency culminates in a showcase / performance of participants’ creations, ranging from the informal to the fully realized — as best suits each residency. These intensives are ideally suited and customized for a university setting — especially across artistic disciplines. Time frames can be adjusted to suit. Final projects range from informal showings to more fully realized performances: again, what do you need it to be?
